The first SMiSA members meeting of 2023 has been scheduled to take place at the SMiSA Stadium on Tuesday 28th Feb, with doors opening at 6:30pm.
This meeting will allow the SMiSA board to introduce themselves to members as a group which will proactively strive to represent the opinion of all members to the best of their ability. An update will also be provided on progress made by the board over the past few months.
The SMiSA board take cognizance of the lack of communication with members over the past few months, particularly regarding the recent publishing of club accounts for the year ended 31st May 2022. The SMiSA board would like to express its disappointment in the nature of these accounts, and have been focused on SMiSA's next steps to ensure the loss accrued throughout the past financial year does not reoccur. We will be proposing a series of measures to ensure that moving forwards the Club Board will be fully accountable to the SMiSA board and will seek endorsement of these from the membership.
SMiSA are delighted to announce that we have donated another £45K to the youth academy which will be used for coaches, kit & equipment and other areas to enhance the academy's Elite status.
Dougie McMahon from the SMiSA board who works with Allan McManus and his staff at the academy said "We have to thank the SMiSA members for continuing to support the academy in these difficult times. I know Allan McManus and his staff really appreciate it and you can see the benefits to the whole club with the recent transfers of Ethan & Dylan to clubs in England. The continued growth of the academy is paramount to the future success of our club."
