The SMISA Special Recognition Award has only been awarded on five occasions in our 22 years, previously - to groundsman Tommy Docherty, former head of youth David Longwell, ex-player Hugh Murray, former announcer Phil Clark and most recently in 2018 to Roddy McMillan.
The latest award goes to a young man who taken the match day experience at the SMiSA Stadium to new level.
This fellow, a lifelong St Mirren fan having been taken to matches by his Dad, started the matchday entertainment for kids in 2016 with then CEO Brian Caldwell. It took the club a fair amount of convincing (and a fair amount of his own money) but the entertainment on matchdays has grown year on year and is enjoyed by young fans of all teams.
He has built a team of young assistants over the years and was of course a SMiSA Board member.
In the New Year he is emigrating to Australia with his family, and we will all miss him in and around the club.
So for only the 6th time in 23 years, the SMiSA Special Recognition Award goes to Colin (Paisley Panda) Bright.
On behalf of everyone at SMiSA, we would like to give a sincere THANK YOU!
