Jim Irvine - New SMFC Director

Jim Irvine - New SMFC Director

Following Gordon Scott stepping down from the club board in May of this year, SMiSA have carried out an extensive recruitment process to find a successor who we believe will best represent SMiSA in club matters whilst also making a telling contribution in helping to drive St Mirren forward.

SMiSA are delighted to announce that following an approval poll which was put to members last week, Jim Irvine will be appointed to the board of St. Mirren Football Club. Jim's appointment was approved by members with a vote of 320-27.

Formalities will now take place, such as informing Companies House etc. SMiSA believe Jim is the right individual to help take St. Mirren forward, and look forward to working with him as we further strengthen the relationship between both SMiSA and SMFC boards.

I'm beyond excited to be joining the board of the club I've supported my entire life. My love affair with the Buds started out by getting lifted over the turnstiles by my dad in 1970 and I never imagined back then that I'd ever be presented with this opportunity. I look forward to working with John Needham and his fellow Directors on the Board in overseeing the stewardship of the club at such an exciting moment in our footballing history and as we look forward to our 150th anniversary. I'm grateful to the SMISA Board and members for the faith they've shown by nominating me for the role and I look forward to repaying that by the bucket-load. It's an immensely proud day for me and my family and I can't wait to get started!
