'Design A Poster' Competition Exhibition - Opens!

ImageToday the exhibition of entries for the St.Mirren & Show Racism The Red Card 'Design A Poster' competition officially opened at Paisley Museum & Art Gallery.

The competition was backed by Renfrewshire Council & promoted in local schools with the objective of taking the message that racism is not acceptable in the 21st Century to children, with Saints at the forefront of getting that message across in P5, 6 & 7 and there has been a quite simply terrific response.

Over 300 entries were received by SMiSA and a large selection of them are now on display at the museum, including the 6 winning entries.

The 6 winners were:

Overall Winner

'Design A Poster' Competition Update

ImageWith the opening of  the Show Racism the Red Card & St.Mirren 'Design A Poster' competition exhibit at Paisley Museum & Art Gallery scheduled to take place this coming Saturday, it's all hands to the pump to make sure that the hundreds of entries from local schoolchildren get displayed before opening day.

SMiSA are looking for volunteers to assist in the preparation and mounting of posters on the gallery walls.  If you are free to assist for around an hour or so at any time before Saturday, then please go to Paisley Town Hall and ask for Clare O'Hara, who will direct you to where your services will be helpful.  The entries are being prepared there before being moved to the Museum itself.  Clare is very generously giving up her holidays in order to make the event as big a success as possible for the kids in particular, and needs as many people as possible to turn up and help out.

The exhibition will be open from Saturday 7th April to Friday 13th April.

Bar Budda in Shuttle St, Paisley was packed to the rafters as fans crowded in to participate in the quiz and mingle with members of the team, both past and present, who turned out in large numbers to honour the Saints legend. most of the night and a short, but witty speech from Kevin McGowne.
