SMiSA are pleased to announce that we have confirmation from the club that Saints legend Tony Fitzpatrick & current central defender Lee Mair will be taking the managerial roles for Saints Aid 8 this Sunday.

SMiSA would like to thank both Tony & Lee for giving up their Sunday to take part in the event and again wish all of the players a happy and enjoyable time in the game.

Saints Aid 8 Update - Full Event Itinerary

Image

With Saints Aid 8 just around the corner this Sunday, SMiSA is able to update all players and interested spectators on the day's events.

Firstly, we have some sad news that due to injury, one of our players, Kenny Morrison, has had to pull out of the event.  His place has been taken up by Stephen Bryceland who has generously matched Kenny's bid for the Home 10 shirt.  Everyone at SMiSA would like to wish Kenny all the best with his recovery, and thank Stephen on taking up the place.

On a happier note however, we can confirm that the Paisley Daily Express competition for the final place in the event was won by Graham Miller.  We would like to congratulate Graham on winning the place and wish him all the best for the day.

We do have a full itinerary for the event though.  Please click the 'Read More' button for more information.

From everyone at SMiSA we would like to congratulate Darren on his award and thank him for a tremendous season's effort, as well as thanking everyone who took the time to nominate their choice for the award.

If there are any other supporters groups who wish to present their awards on the pitch on Saturday's game alongside SMiSA's, please email us here and we will look to organise that for you.

SMiSA Statement on 10000 Hours CIC Takeover Proposals

ImageSMiSA have been in discussions with Richard Atkinson's group since last August regarding the proposed Community Interest Company purchase of the Consortiums shareholding. Following our members meeting earlier this month we are pleased to report that the Association backs the initiative in principal and are currently seeking clarification on the finer detail relating to the proposed funding of the purchase. SMiSA are currently considering options for investing funding and once this exercise is concluded we will consult with the membership and seek further instruction.

We would encourage all St. Mirren fans to fully engage in the presentation meetings currently being staged at St. Mirren Park as the success of this is dependent on supporter participation so please take the time to attend, question and if you, as a St. Mirren supporter conclude this is the way forward for our club fully support this by getting involved.

"Black & White Party" at Ayr Racecourse, 05-02-11

SMiSA has learned that in honour of the Scottish Cup 5th Round tie between Ayr United & St. Mirren at Somerset Park this Saturday, 5th February, Ayr Racecourse are staging what has been billed as a "Black & White Party" for fans of both clubs.

The doors to the Eglinton Stand open on Saturday at 12 noon and the event will go on until 2.45pm so that both sets of fans will be able to make the kickoff time at 3pm with the stadium very close to the course (approx 2 mins walking distance).  Bars, betting and free parking facilities are available, and children are welcome.  There will also be 'Giant TV's tuned in to the sports channels and food will be available.

As part of the event, the Racecourse are planning to donate a cheque to the Ayr United Supporters Trust (Honest Men Trust) and they have also kindly made an offer to St. Mirren of donating raceday hospitality packages for the club to have as website competition prizes.

All told, this venture should add to what will hopefully be an exciting cup trip for Saints fans this weekend.
